JOE EVANS RETAINS SST MODIFIED FEATURE VICTORY LANE FOR SECOND STRAIGHT WEEK

WYOMING SPEEDWAY’S JULY 4TH SIZZLING FIREWORKS FOR EVANS, PANGRAZIO, AND VERWYS AND PYROTECHNICS FOR EVERYONE!

PERRY, NY: There was another grand July 4th celebration at Wyoming County International Speedway with America’s most traditional music playing as a wall of fire shot hundreds of feet into the air from the tail pipes of two hot rods facing each other. At the same time there was a spectacular fireworks display in the sky that continued for over half an hour.

Joe Evans has won the W.C.I.S. S.S.T. Modified features for two weeks in a row now. A huge catastrophic jam up on lap six brought out the second caution when over half of the SST field crashed going down the back stretch. Most of the cars were forced pit side. Some drivers were able to pit and return to the race but others were done for the night. Evans carefully started working on Bradshaw's lead No. 00 from lap eight until lap eleven when Evan’s No. 91 car slipped past on the inside and then held the lead for the remainder of the exciting fast thirty lap S.S.T. July 4th feature.

Tony Pangrazio stood proud and tall at the start finish line after winning his well deserved overdue feature Super Stock race in his No. 41 car. Everyone from everywhere offered their congratulations and to take their turn to give Tony a handshake.

When the green was dropped after the first caution on lap three, Tony moved right up into second position from having started fourth. After trying every which way to get around Todd Stone's No. 28, he was able to move into first on lap eight where he stayed for the remainder of the race.

Multi time Wasp 4cyl, WCIS past Champion Bill Verwys is back winning another feature this week in his No. 8 car. After riding in the middle of three cars wide right through several laps, Bill worked his car hard to get into first on lap eight were he stayed clearly ahead until the checkered on lap twenty. Bill again flashed his now standard but real cool fast four wheel corner drifts. In the winner's interview Bill said, "Tonight my right rear tire was replaced three times. I worked real hard driving, but I'm so happy I got the win!"
