GEORGE DECKER MEMORIAL 100 SET FOR SATURDAY, JULY 19 AT HOLLAND - LAP SPONSORSHIPS STILL AVAILABLE

Holland, NY: The George Decker Memorial 100, the most prestigious event of the season for the NASCAR Sunoco SST Pro Modifieds at the Holland NASCAR Motorsports Complex, and one of the highlight races of the year for the SST Sportsman Modifieds in Western and Central NY, will lead the program of events at Holland on Saturday, July 19th.

The event, now in its ninth year, is run in memory of the late George Decker, a prominent businessman from Springville, NY, who was a long time supporter of motorsports and racing at Holland. His wife Phyllis and son Barry have taken the lead in putting this program together on an annual basis. This season’s race is co-sponsored by Hamburg Overhead Door and Team Fabrication.

This year’s event will reward the winner with $2,000 and a guaranteed $250 to take the opening green flag. In addition, laps are being sponsored at $25 per lap, which will add significantly to the evening’s payout. With the lucrative purse and SST points on the line, plus the fact that the SST Sportsman will be off from the neighboring Dunn Tire Raceway Park that night, a great field of outsiders is expected to challenge the likes of Holland stars Neil Hopkins, Mike Fiebelkorn, Jr., Justin Shepker, Chuck Anderson, and the rest of the Holland Pro Modified ranks for the top prize. Qualifying heats will determine the starting grid for the 100 lap main.

Lap sponsorship opportunities are still available. Anyone interested in sponsoring a lap at a minimum of $25 is encouraged to contact Barry Decker at (716) 941-5943 or send a check payable to “Decker Promotions” to P.O. Box 62, Boston, NY 14025. Advance sale tickets for the evening are also available from Barry Decker.

In addition to the George Decker Memorial 100, the Holland program on July 19th will include events for the LAMOT Late Models, Carquest Chargers, Native Pride Pro Fours, Alliance Auto Recycling Figure 8 Cars, Thiel Motorsports Hornets, and the Queen Bees. Pit gates will open at 3:00, grandstand gates will open at 4:00, and racing will get underway at 6:00 PM. Adult general admission the night of the race is just $15.00, students 8-15 years old, $8.00, and children 7 and under are admitted free. For more information, contact the Holland office at (716) 537-2272 or visit the Holland web site at www.hollandspeedway.com.
