BOBBY HOLMES CAPTURES FIRST WYOMING SST MODIFIED FEATURE; R.O.C. MODIFIED TOUR ARRIVES ON SATURDAY, JUNE 14 WITH OTHER CLASSES

 
Wyoming County International Speedway held their fourth race of the season on Friday, June 6 and had the hottest temperature yet as it was ninety three degrees at the track. The SST Modified feature race was a great race again at the Bull Ring. Bobby Holmes brought out his Lazy #8x SST Modified to Wyoming County. Holmes started the feature mid-pack and the WCIS SST Modified points leader Patti Pruitt started deep in the field. Holmes made his way to the front by passing when he was in the corners and down the back stretch; Bobby made some of his best moves there. Meanwhile Pruitt worked her way through the pack, and with twenty laps to go she was in the battle of the night on the hottest night yet for the third spot.

Holmes caught the leaders and once he passed the #01 of John Barber, Holmes broke away from the rest of the field. Pruitt was in the fourth spot and right on the bumper of the #91 of Joe Evans; Patti made several attempts to pass Evans, but Evans was holding Pruitt off with every move she made. This went on for fifteen laps until finally the Pruitt ride made it by the #91 of Evans. Pruitt only had five laps to go after she passed the Evans machine, and Patti had just too much ground to make up to catch the leaders. At the finish line it was the Original Pizza Logs Lazy #8x of Bobby Holmes taking the win followed by the #01 of John Barber and in third place was the #8 of Patti Pruitt.

This weekend is a double race weekend as Friday, June 13 has free camping with admission being only $5.00. Admission gates open at 5 p.m. with racing at 7:30 p.m. Friday's action will include a 40 lap 4-Cylinder WASP special, Mini Cups and Street Stocks along with Modified hot laps.

The Race of Champions Modified Tour is scheduled for Saturday, June 14. Don’t miss the best show of the Tour which is held on the Saturday night of Father’s Day weekend! Modified Tour racing begins at 7 p.m. with general admission gates opening at 4 p.m. Adult general admission is $20.00 for the R.o.C. Modified Tour 75, SST Modified, Super Stock and the Jesse Rodgers Memorial T.Q. Midget events. There are additional discounts for students and seniors.
