Almost right after the close of a very successful 2006 season, preparations for 2007 began on the DeLange Racing Modifieds. Achievement on the racetrack is directly related to the work done away from the track; effort equals results. With a very aggressive schedule planned for the Young Guns in the upcoming season, the off-season is an important part of what truly is a year-round endeavor.
Bobby Holmes of Lockport will kick off the season for DeLange Racing in February by competing in the 41st Annual World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing at New Smyrna Speedway in Samsula, Florida. Practice day will be on Thursday, February 8, and continue for eight nights of racing through February 17. This will be Holmes’ first time racing on the fast half-mile oval and he is eagerly looking forward to the challenge of competing against many of the top Modified drivers.
To support the effort, the crew of the #22 Modified is in the final stages of preparation under the watchful eye of crew chief Jim Rudolph. The Troyer chassis has been thoroughly rebuilt and there is a brand new Bob Bruneau Tour motor under the hood. A talented crew will be supporting Holmes in Florida; besides New Smyrna veteran Rudolph, joining him will be assistant crew chiefs Joe Mihalics and Jason Kerrison, Jeff DeMinck, tire specialist Sam Oakes, Cliff Holmes and spotter Bruce Boucher.
Meanwhile, work is also underway in Ransomville preparing the #45 Modified for new driver Erick Rudolph. The car will be sporting a new 2007 Troyer chassis and Bob Bruneau is preparing a new Tour motor to supply the power. Young Gun Rudolph will make his Modified debut in the spring and the talented teenager is anxious to confront this new challenge head-on.
Dave and Laura DeLange and everyone on the team wishes a Happy Holiday season to our sponsors, suppliers, fans, competitors and the members of the media. Your support is deeply appreciated and we look forward to seeing you all in 2007.
