CUBA LAKE RACEWAY '50S STOCK CAR RACING LUNCHEON

This is your invitation to attend the third annual CLR luncheon for all those that remember or have a love of stock car racing from those wonderful '50s. The drivers and other personnel that raced at CLR in the '50s along with other notables from that era are all coming and now the invitation is open to you folks. Drivers from Ohio, Nevada, Ontario and many points in NY and PA have made their reservations and are coming. Many drivers that made their stardom in the '60s are also coming. The past CLR luncheons have become very popular with the whole stock car racing world it seems and have completely sold out before the events took place. Because of the popularity we are having this years luncheon at Moonwinks, just north of Cuba, NY and within 1/2 mile of the old CLR track as they can handle 200 people and still have room for all of us to move around and visit with the drivers, car owners, track personnel, other fans and fellow lovers of '50s and '60s stock car racing. This is your chance to be with and talk with these greats from that era. If you have any question on how enjoyable the event is, ask anyone that attended the Letchworth event last year. If you missed that one, make sure you don't miss this one.
6/13 UPDATE: Only 40 seats remain and then it will be sold out.

When: July 26th 2006 (Wed)

Where: Moonwinks, just north of Cuba, NY (3 miles) on Rt. 305 and 1/2 mile from the once very popular CLR track in the mid '50s.

Restrictions: The balance of the remaining seats available for this sit down luncheon will be based on postmark date of reservation being sent to me and once sold out no others will be able to attend as management has advised me that 200 is the maximum capacity. Include your phone # with your RSVP so I can contact you if luncheon becomes sold out before the July 1st deadline. Suggestion is to send your reservation in as soon as you read this to avoid a disappointment.

Invitation deadline: I must receive your reservation and payment by July 1st.

Time and Cost: registration starts at 11:00 am with lunch starting appro. 12:15. We have use of the restaurant until 4:00 pm so there will be plenty of time for our speaker, mc's and all of us to visit with the drivers, friends, old and new, and other notables that will be attending with you. This will also afford you with plenty of time for autographs and pictures with your heroes. Our sit down luncheon will begin with a garden salad, rolls & butter, beverage (choice of coffee, tea, milk iced tea or lemonade). Mixed drinks, wine or beer may be ordered, but are at additional cost. You will have the choice of one of the following two entrees: Roast Beef "au jus" or baked sliced Ham with brown sugar glaze. You must let me know how many of each along with the names of those attending with you in your party when you send your RSVP. The entree you choose will come with potato and vegetable. Our luncheon will then conclude with a very nice dessert. Steve, the Manager of Moonwinks, is also a lover of '50s stock car racing and those of you that attended the 2003 banquet will remember the great feed he put on for us that complimented the roast pig that Pete Buono worked on the whole night before for all of us. Steve will go out of his way this year also to see that we are treated as Queens and Kings. Our luncheon is "dutch treat" for all attending and the price of $15.00 per person includes everything foodwise, beverage (except noted above), tax and gratuity. Your only cost and job the day of the luncheon is to forget all your problems and just enjoy yourself. Remember I must receive your RSVP and payment by: July 1st 2006 at the latest as no day of the luncheon payments will be allowed. Because of the guarantee required by Moonwinks no refunds can be made. I will not be sending tickets back to you. We will have your name and any others in your party on a master list that will be marked at registration on the 26th.

Program: I am very pleased to announce that Kenny Shupp Jr. from Woodhull, NY is going to be our guest speaker. Kenny's Dad, Kenny Sr., was a great driver in the '50s at many of the local tracks in the area. Kenny Jr. has been the P.R. person at Woodhull since the mid '90s and has his own 90 minute radio show, "Life in the Fast Lane", on WVIN 98.3 FM in Bath and WZKZ 101.9 FM in Wellsville Mondays at 6 PM. Kenny has been around and promoting racing since he was 10 years old and will bring many of his experiences and stories to us at our luncheon. The Master of Ceremonies this year will be done by two very knowledgeable racing notables Gary Montgomery and Ford Eberstein. I also have some tricks up my sleeve that will add to making the day enjoyable for everyone.

RSVP: Send payment, $15.00 per person, along with your name and the names of any attending with you and the entree choice for each of you to: Ford Easton, 5200 28th St. N. # 651, St. Petersburg, FL 33714. Make your check or mo payable to: Ford Easton. Should you need to contact me, phone 727-522-4042 or e-mail fjeaston@aol.com. Remember I must receive your reservation by July 1, 2006.
