HOLLAND SPEEDWAY ANNOUNCES 2006 SCHEDULE


Holland, NY: A varied menu of racing divisions, numerous Late Model specials, and the annual visit by the newly re-named Busch East Series highlight the recently announced 2006 Holland Speedway racing schedule.

The season will be green flagged on Saturday, May 6th with the 47th annual season opener, presented by McKinley Mall. Opening day will get underway at 5:00 pm, which will be the starting time for the first three weeks of the season. The NASCAR Sunoco Late Models, Pro Modifieds, Chargers, and Figure 8 Cars will be joined by the Challengers and Pro Fours on the initial card of the season. Fan Appreciation Night will take place on the second night of the season, Saturday, May 13th, with a $5 adult admission for the card of Challengers, Pro Fours, Figure 8 Cars, Hornets, and Queen Bees, plus the first of 10 appearances throughout the year by the INEX Legends.

Memorial Day weekend will find the shift to the regular 7:15 pm Saturday starting time, with the Casey's TQ Midget Series making the first of their four visits in 2006, joining the NASCAR Sunoco Late Models, Pro Modifieds, Chargers, Figure 8 Cars, and Pro Fours. A second holiday weekend event will take place on Memorial Day Monday, with the annual Faster Pastor race, another INEX Legends event, and the first of six visits by the WNY Mini Cups highlighting the program.

The NASCAR Grand National Division, Busch East Series will be back on Saturday, June 24th, competing in the Fucillo Auto Park HUGE 150.

The IMCA Sport Mods will make four special appearances, on June 1th, July 1st, July 29th, and August 12th.

The Cup Lites Series will be back, with special events on June 24th (as part of the Busch East night support show), July 22nd, August 12th plus a 100 lap special on July 8th.

As always, the NASCAR Sunoco Late Models will have a number of special events, highlighted by the annual Budweiser 100 on Saturday, September 2nd, which will be Holland's designated Mid-Atlantic Asphalt Racing Alliance (MAARA) Series event. The Late Models will also be featured in 50 lap opens on June 3rd, July 22nd, and August 5th, as well as Twin 25's on July 8th.

July will be a busy month at the Speedway, with a holiday double header launching things - on Saturday, July 1st will be a special program featuring the IMCA Sports Mods, INEX Legends, and a special appearance by the Midstate Vintage Modifieds, along with Challenger, Hornet, Queen Bee, and Figure 8 Car Racing and and $1000 to win Demolition Derby. The Speedway will swing back into action on Monday, July 3rd, with a program of NASCAR Sunoco Late Models, Pro Modifieds, Chargers, Challengers, Pro Fours, and Figure 8 Cars. The popular "Wild and Wacky Wednesday" Series will return in July - each of the four Wednesdays in the month will feature a race program on INEX Legends, WMY Mini Cups, Challengers, Hornets, Queen Bees, and Figure 8 Cars with adult admission just $4.00.

For those fans who love the mayhem of mangled metal, two rounds of Crash-A-Rama, featuring full sized School Bus Figure 8 Racing are again on the slate, on June 10th and September 9th.

The season will wind down with the all divisional season championships on Saturday , September 16th.
