MARK BLISS NAMED BOUNDY'S NASCAR MUSEUM 2005 LATE MODEL DRIVER OF THE YEAR

Howard Boundy of Boundy's NASCAR Museum in Holland, NY annually awards a Late Model Driver of the Year from his standings. Holland Late Model champion Mark "Bushy" Bliss won this year's title on the strength of his 8 Holland Late Model features and 3 Lancaster Late Model features including his big victories in the Holland Budweiser 100 and the Lancaster U.S. Open 75 during the last month of the season. There were a total of 46 Late Model races this year between the three asphalt tracks of Holland (NY), Lancaster (NY), and Lake Erie (PA). Lake Erie held 18 features with both Lancaster and Holland having 14 features. Finishes at all three tracks figure into a final total. Other feature events at Wyoming and the Oswego Race of Champions aren't figured into the standings. A total of 86 drivers competed through the season. Previous Late Model Drivers of the Year were Todd Hoddick #99 in 2004, Bill Catania #18 in 2003, and Dan Domanowski #27 in 2002.
