SST POSTPONES FIRST EVENT DUE TO SNOW
SST - The Super Short Track Modified Racing Series presented by Hoosier
Tire East cancelled out the inaugural 2005 tour event at Lake Erie Speedway. SST
Directors Jim Majchrzak and Chris Zacharias spoke with Lake Erie Promoter
Joe Lewandoski about rescheduling this event. Lewandoski is considering
a few mid-Summer dates at non-conflicting times. Lake Erie Speedway
will still host two (2) additional dates for SST bonus points as well as
the SST Championship on Sunday, October 9th.
SST teams seeking to benefit by Lancaster Raceway Park's early Spring
opener, Sunday May 1st, can do so and generate much needed bonus points for
there participation. This opportunity will be extremely beneficial for
those teams competing at the Chemung Speedrome on Saturday nights
throughout the Summer.
SST Tour Race #2 is scheduled for Sunday, May 29th at Tioga Motorsports
Park as part of the Richie Evans Memorial weekend. SST Modified cars
will be off at Wyoming County Int. Speedway (Perry) as WCIS and Tioga
exchange divisions allowing home track teams to travel. In exchange, the
Late Models charge into Perry for the first Late Model Madness Mini-Series
welcoming competitors from across the Northeast. Check out the Chemung
Speedrome Web site for future Late Model Madness dates as these two
tracks tie together for additional series racing action. SST Directors hope
to continue their efforts of uniformality for the Late Models and
eventually create a similar series to the Sportsman Modifieds under the SST
banner.
