JOHN JULICHER CHRISTENS NEW
CAR WITH 67TH WIN

Tops Late Model action saw John Julicher with his new
Pontiac Grand Prix #09 and Holland regular Dan Domanowski #27 claim the two
heats. This was another night for the Holland Late Model drivers to visit as
Dan Domanowski, the previous week's winner there Shawn Dunning #71, George
Skora III #65x, and Bill Catania #13 participated.
The field of 19 cars had defending champion Ron Nurmi #2
took the lead on lap 1 after starting along polesitter Mike Catalano #64.
Julicher made it under Mike for 2nd position on lap 3. The lap 5 order was
Nurmi, Julicher, Todd Hoddick, Catalano, and Domanowski. Dan continued moving
up as he made his ascent to 4th bringing two time feature winner Joe Carbone
#31along for 5th. John took over the lead from Ron entering turn 1 on lap 9.
Lap 14 saw Todd Hoddick get under Nurmi for 2nd out of turn 4. The red
flag was brought out on lap 20 as the previous week's winner Tom MacLeod #4,
Mike Catalano #64, Mark Krupczyk #15, Mark Pennell #18, and newcomer Bill
Catania #13 became entangled coming out of turn 4. Only Catalano were
continue. Lap 21's restart saw Joe Carbone make it past Ron Nurmi for 4th
place. The first 7 cars were all together in a single file train as the 23rd
lap clicked off. John Julicher won by less than a car length for his first
time out with his new car this season over Todd Hoddick. It was pitside the
week before and blew the clutch. Dan Domanowski had a Lancaster career best
finish with 3rd along with Shawn Dunning in 6th for the outsiders.
John captured his 67th victory in the division and 68th
overall at Lancaster. His car was painted white and is sponsored by Kyle's
Snow Service. He's planning to keep the car that color and is open
to painting the car if more sponsorship can be found.
