BOB WEBER CONTINUES EARLY SEASON DOMINATION
By Mark Southcott

Last Saturday night brought the biggest field of the year with five driver additions from Holland who cancelled their show early. The Holland drivers include three time and defending Late Model champion Vern Bliss #03, former two time Wyoming County Late Model champion Dan Domanowski #27, Jason Petri #53, George Skora III #65, and former Pro Modified champion T.J. Johnson #77. Heats were claimed by Bob Weber #11 and reigning champion Ron Nurmi #2.

The field of 20 strong lined up behind the front row of sophomore driver Mike Davis #02 and Mark Krupczyk #15 to his outside. Krupczyk made the move to the lead position at the start. Mark Pennell #18 continued his rotten luck when he hit the back wall on lap 4 and T.J. Johnson clipped him. Karl Schafer #54 and George Skora III also were involved. Everyone was knocked out for the evening except Schafer. Mike Catalano #64 got around Mark Krupczyk to lead the 5th lap. Mark regained the lead the very next lap as the top three was Krupczyk, Todd Hoddick #99 who had recorded another top 5 Late Model finish at Lake Erie on Friday night, and Bob Weber. Weber slid under Hoddick just before halfway. Bob Weber them made his move to the point on lap 15 with a backstretch pass under Krupczyk. Within 5 laps Bob had stretched his lead to a half a straightaway advantage. Lap 22 brought the last change in the top 5 as Tom MacLeod who gained the most positions with nine slipped under the previous week's winner Joe Carbone #31 for fourth place. Weber was comfortably out in front when the checkered waved. 15 cars were still running at the finish. Dan Domanowski did the best of the Holland invaders with a 6th place finish.

Bob was under the weather and even had Brandon Metz warm up his car. Bob then jumped in to win his heat and his second feature out of the three run this season. Bob also thanked his numerous sponsors including Stockmohr Roofing & Siding, Beaver Landscaping, Amsoil, Halfway Auto Parts, King Oil, Ed Seifert's Garage, and his engine by Tom's Performance.
