Other Information: His nickname was "Gentleman". Both Gene and son Dave were Lancaster Rookies of the Year in a #60 and won at Perry/Wyoming. Gene's son Dave won Ransomville and Genesee Pro Stock titles with #60 plus won three times at Syracuse's Super DIRT Week in the Pro Stock class, son Dan won a Genesee Pro Stock title with #66 and son Mark won a Ransomville Pro Stock title with #62 along with a 2007 Lancaster T.Q. Midget feature. His son Brian won a Lancaster Truck feature with #27.
Gene shook down the Thompson Racing #4 Super Stock (Super Stock and Late Model #54 since the early '90s) in 1990 at Lancaster, but he didn't run a feature.
Gene ran every feature he showed up to run at Lancaster as he never had a DNS. He had to run some consis, but he always made the feature.
Gene helped Modified driver John McDonald #28 in the mid-'70s.
